Antivir is a very good program. I believe it is made in Germany but is written in English. I have it installed and haven't had any problems since installation two years ago. Also it offers an update every 14 days. The big plus is that it is a fully functioning program and is a free download. Type Antivir in your browser or on Google.com and it should come up in the search results.

What you choose is not nearly as important as keeping it updated. Antivirus only works if it has the most recent data to check with. Viruses, worms, Trogan horses and other, are constantly being changed and new ones appear almost daily.
check out pcmag.com or pcworld.com they have reviews on all software and links to where you can download them. And YES do as the other poster stated make sure it is always updated

I would strongly recommend you avast! antivirus professional edition... it's really really good, it has lots of great features and if you have an internet connection it will update itself in the computers idle time constantly. It also has a VRDB, a virus-recovery-data-base which is another great feature. It has 7 on-access protection providers... like protection for P2P clients, INSTANT MESSANGING, EMAIL, WEB etc...
