i think it has been setup up through options , u may change it frm options but if the problem continues it can be a virus activity or u may try reinstalling it
Your anti-virus software is set to scan automatically at a certain time. Check the settings. There should be something there that allows you to start a scan either daily, weekly or on a certain day at a certain time. If you find this setting in your program, you can turn it off. REMEMBER: if you do not turn off the auto-run setting and your computer is off when the scan is suppose to run, the scan will run EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER and you will have to stop it manually every time . So find that option that turns it off.
Because it's scheduled to. This can usually be changed to a more convenient time. If it does not run when it's scheduled it will try again after a certain amount of time. How to change and update the times is different for every software package. It will continue to try to run until it completes the task. Then the schedule will start all over again.

Unless you don't have it settup to scan at a certain time and day such as once a week at noon midnight etc. really don't know what to tell you
