Help on Antivirus and Spyware programs?

I need FREE anti virus and spy ware programs that I can download and that I know will help my computer instead of spam it like some ''free'' programs. Anyone can advice me on some?

1. For your Anti-Virus......(Always use only 1 A-V)

An excellent free firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall. It can pass firewall ''leak tests'' that even most of the ''paid-for'' firewalls cannot pass.
