What free antivirus,etc is good until i can get my good one? what all do i need to keep my comp good

I use Zone Alarm firewall, and Avira Antivir guard.

AVG is totally worthless. It is junk. I recommend active virus shield. It is the best one and it is also free.

In have been using this antivirus since 1999 and imo nothing does as good a s a job, AVG dosent catch viruses, neither does mcaffe or norton. Give it a try, its the only one I use.

The previous answer was a good one. AVG is as good a free antivirus as you can get. The current free AVG will only be good until January, when Grisoft will replace it with another free version. But you need some other things, too. SpyBot and Ad-Aware keep your computer free of spyware and unwanted ads. It takes all of them to keep a computer running clean.
