Are some antivirus programs so back that they cant detect viruses? if so which ones?

No antivirus on the market is capable of detecting 100% of viruses/malware. The only thing vendors can do is get as close as possible to this 100% detection rate, but because new viruses are being made and detected daily it is more of a battle of attrition. With that said the best antiviruses have around a 99% virus/malware detection rate and most of the others are somewhere in the 90% range, per the last av comparatives. Every antivirus on the market will offer some amount of protection, whether free or paid and there is no one perfect solution. You can get infected with every antivirus on the market regardless of the detection rate...just look at some of the questions here. If you choose to pay for an antivirus program I suggest Nod32 or BitDefender. These are GREAT programs with excellent detection rates. If you are looking for free my personal preference is Antivir, which has great virus detection rates, but as far as malware you will need an addition scanner to aid in its removal. With any of these I would advise updating these programs daily and scanning your pc regularly. Hope this helps!
