it has been my experience that norton anti-virus does little except consume vast resources on your box. it is extremely resource heavy, slowing your system greatly if you have less than 2gigs of ram. it consistently bottoms out in independent a/v tests. you may care to try'' spy-bot search and destroy ''.it has a very high hit rate and is consistently highly rated on test. it is free-ware and available for down-load on the web-site. www.SaferNetworking.com, or file-hippo.com, majorgeeks.com,and i think, sourceforge.com....i would also advise you to d/load sunbelt software personal firewall from sygate systems, it is free and will stop those annoying pop-up's completely. the windows firewall is virtually useless.
