But yes, you'll need to be running at LEAST OS 10.2.
To be honest, though, I wouldn't pay for AV for the Mac right now. It's not needed at this time (subject to change, of course).
Before I paid for any AV, I'd pay for a newer version of OS X, 10.3 and 10.4 are way, way, way more stable and powerful than 10.1 and 10.2.
Then after you upgrade, you can install the Free ClamXav.
Download cc cleaner.com and avast.com and you can't go wrong..

Unfortunatelly looks like 10.2 is a minimum operating system it will run on.
